Hedgehog wreath making

Some of the children in Hedgehog class enjoyed making a Christmas wreath today.

We made one wreath from tinsel and another with foliage. They were easy to do (we wound the tinsel or willow/foliage) around the frame and ta-da!

If you would like to make one with your child at home, please let us know and we will send home the metal ring that you will need to get going. Simply follow our picture instructions or get creative and design your own. We’d love to see photos of the finished results.884DF8BE-2DD5-4B60-A4AF-936B2CA32A3A 0084E9F3-82AE-446E-B50A-1D957D5B260B

We are busy learning Christmas songs for our Nativity performance in class. We are going to film the performance and put it on the school website soon, as detailed in the letter on Parentmail you had from Mrs Ball.

In addition we are hoping to hold a Christingle celebration in school on 17th December and there are lots of songs for the children to learn for this. As your homework for the next two weeks, please watch the YouTube videos below and help your child to learn these traditional Christmas carols that the children will be singing at our Christingle.

We would love for parents and families to join in too so please enjoy these together!

If you’re struggling to concentrate for the full video, try doing it in sections and have a break between each bit.

English:

It’s not long until Christmas now, and I’m sure you’ve been thinking about what you would like Father Christmas to bring you. You might have already written your letter to Father Christmas but I’m a bit nosey and would love to see what you’ve asked for!! You can use this template to help you.

Letter to FC

Maths:

Today we’re having another practice at using the greater than sign (the one that looks like a crocodiles’ mouth <). Remember the crocodile wants to eat the bigger number so the big open mouth end needs to point towards the bigger number.

Sally the alligator is very hungry and loves to eat more fish. Cut out the pictures of Sally the alligator and glue them in the boxes (making sure her mouth is open towards the side with the most fish!)

Science:

We’ve been busy all term learning about animals and humans, and today we are lucky enough to join in with a virtual trip to Chester Zoo! The live stream starts at 2pm on this link Primary Science: Creatures and Colour – Live Lesson – BBC Teach

Use what you have learned from the live lesson to complete this booklet:

Why are animals different colours?

I hope you have a lovely day, any problems let me know 🙂
