Homework Reminder!

Over this half term I would like you to complete these tasks, some might take longer than others! You can bring them in when you have completed them and on the last week of term we will have a ‘homework gallery’ to display all our fantastic home learning. If you need to borrow any resources from school to be able to join in and complete these tasks, please let me know. I can’t wait to see what you create!

A special reading the game

This week we had a special visitor come to visit whilst we were busy completing our reading comprehension! Amber the Shrewsbury Town mascot popped in to check the children were working hard and also to deliver some books to celebrate world book day! We had a fantastic time outside this week learning new football skills and playing a couple of matches, it was fantastic to see the enthusiasm the children have for the sport!

Reading the game

Today we had our first introductory lesson to reading the game! We met coach Neil and he told us all about the programme and it’s connection to Shrewsbury Town football club. We discussed why reading is so important even in football. After an excellent session in the classroom it was time to head to the hall to try out some new skills where we really focused hard on our school value of perseverance. We’re all so excited about what’s to come in the following weeks!

well done to this weeks players of the week Oliver and Millie!

Wonderful weaving

This week in Dragonfly class we have been recreating artwork by Anni Albers who was a German artist and printmaker. Anni was known for her bold patterns and thoughtful colour choices, the children experimented with different colours and weaving patterns to create their own inspired art work. We also practiced our measuring skills to create our own weaving looms! The children showed great determination and perseverance with this tricky task.
