Weekly celebrations 20th October

We have had the BEST couple of days in school to finish the week with our “Wear it pink for Breast Cancer Awareness” Celebrations!  We can’t thank everyone enough for the donations of money, cakes and overall ‘pinkness’! This event has been inspired by our very own Mrs Bradshaw and her ‘happy’ cancer story; we wish to make a very special thank you to her for all her energy and ideas to transform our school into a happy, pink and cake-filled paradise!
We look forward to announcing the grand total of fundraising very soon.

Panathlon Bowling Event @ Shrewsbury

We were excited to be able to send a squad of 18 of our Year 3/4/5/6 children to a Panathlon Bowling event at Hollywood Bowl, Shrewsbury, recently. The event aimed to provide a wider range of children the opportunity to participate in a competitive event but in a friendly, fun atmosphere, whilst learning skills on bowling along the way!

Our staff were very proud of all our pupils and how they conducted themselves throughout the event, showing all our values in sportsmanship. Well done team!

Y4 Football @ Packwood

On Wednesday 4th October, nine Y4 children took the short walk up to Packwood Haugh School for the U9’s Mixed Football Festival!
The first match was verses Baschurch.
Otto, our captain was in goal, with the rest of the team defending and pushing forward well. On the final whistle Ruyton held Baschurch to a 0-0 draw!
The second match was verses West Felton.
This time Thomas was our goalie, with Sam and Isaac supporting in defence.
The first goal of the match came from Otto, with two further goals coming from Archie!
Resulting in a convincing 3-0 win to Ruyton!
The last match was against a very strong Packwood Haugh. Issac stepped up to be in goal, with Otto and Thomas in defence.
Laila, Robyn and Evie took the central position, with Archie, Magnus and Sam upfront!
Though this game ended in a 1-0 defeat…everyone on the team worked hard and showed great determination!
All the children showed excellent sportsmanship! But special mentions go to Magnus for his amazing throw ins, Otto for his incredible crossing balls and Robyn for her brave defending!
Well done Ruyton!
