Weekly Celebrations – 09.6.23

Posted on June 9, 2023 by Jen Whittingham

Welcome back to our final half-term this school year. The Year 4 group are currently having a fantastic time in Liverpool – we can’t wait to hear how they have got on. Plus we are looking forward to our ‘Have Fun for Harry Day’ next Friday for the Harry Johnson Trust: remember to dress green / orange, and get baking for the themed bake-sale!

Here are some updates from an array of in-school events that have taken place this week…

Weekly Celebrations :

Acorn Awards (earning House Points with two pupils chosen per class; awarded by teachers for class-based work / learning attitudes):

Ruby- For kindness around school

Otto – For producing some fantastic writing

Amber– for beating a Maths challenge!

Brooke– for beating a Maths challenge!

Magnus – for great writing effort

Harry– for always being happy and helpful

Jackson– for working brilliantly in maths

Bumblebees Star of the Week

There are FOUR Stars of the Week this week in Bumblebees! Mrs Hurst explained how these four children had been exploring books in and beginning to learn their phonics and blending – we couldn’t believe it when she told us they were 3 and 4 year olds! Well done Harrison, James, Lottie and Elsie!

Raffle ticket winners (awarded by staff for lining-up or behaviour around school)

Plus an extra winner in Rabbit Class as they had the most tickets this week 👏

Swimming Award

We celebrated Brooke’s  AMAZING achievement of ‘Honours’ in her latest Swimming Challenge – well done Brooke!

Rainbows

Nancy shared her recent accomplishment with Rainbows: she has earned a ‘kindness’ badge for her cup of kindness challenge. Well done Nancy – keep up the great work.

Swimming Award

Hallie shared her super achievement of ‘5 metres’ badge this week! Wow Hallie! We always say this is the toughest one to get… you’re a superstar!

Coming up next week:

  • The Liverpool trip returns! We can’t wait to hear all about it
  • Friday evening – good luck to all the quizzers taking part in the School Quiz this evening! A big thank you to our Friends for organising another packed-out event.
  • A KS2 Athletics team are heading out on Tuesday morning – good luck!
  • Swimming for Hedgehogs and Owls on Friday
  • Friday –  Have Fun for Harry Day (including Bake Sale Thursday)
