Weekly Celebration Assembly – 3rd February

Posted on February 3, 2023 by Jen Whittingham

February has arrived, bringing a new theme of ‘Wisdom’ to our Worship this term; there has been plenty of wise decisions made in school this week judging by our Celebration Assembly!

NSPCC Number Morning

Across the school this morning, we took part in the NSPCC Number Day; as you can see, Rabbit Class produced some fantastic number crowns (Miss Horton made a great effort too!) It was great to see the school filled with mathematicians all morning!

In Bumblebees, Elsie and Alfie achieved Stars of the Week for settling in so well:

Golden Book Awards (awarded for a culmination of class stars / quality marks in work / lessons):

Seren – 1st Award

Maia – 3rd award (earning a Green Star badge)

Harry – 6th award (earning a Blue Star badge)

Evan – 9th award (earning a Red Star badge)

Acorn Awards (earning House Points with two pupils chosen per class; awarded by teachers for class-based work / learning attitudes):

  • Mav– for working really hard on writing
  • Ruby– for super effort in everything she does
  • Amelia– for settling into Dragonflies so well
  • Freddie– for making so much progress in reading
  • Tilly– for settling in to Dragonflies so quickly
  • Sam – for settling into Dragonflies so well
  • Harry– for always working carefully and taking great pride in his work
  • Harrison– for increasing his expectations of himself in all aspects of learning
  • Elsie – for consistently producing writing to a very high standard

Raffle ticket winners (awarded by staff for lining-up or behaviour around school)

There were LOTS of raffle tickets in all the class tins this week – a huge well done to all the classes for earning so many raffle tickets!

Guitar Awards

We proudly presented awards to Elsie and Alice for their achievements in their guitar lessons with Mr Butler. They both take part in weekly lessons and are making great progress: Alice told us how she had to play a James Bond theme and ‘Over the Rainbow’ as part of her award.

Well done Alice (Gold Award) and Elsie (Silver Award)!
