Owl Class Home Learning – Thursday 17th December 2020

Good morning.  Here are today’s tasks:

*English – Unit from The Oak National Academy.  Using the link, find Year 5 week beginning Monday 30th November.  Select Thursday’s English lesson ‘To write the opening paragraph of a non-chronological report’ for Year 5. Follow the instructions in the lesson to work through the teaching video and the related activity.

*Maths – today we are looking at Dividing Fractions by integers.  Take a look at the following PowerPoint and Worksheet. Before having a go at the worksheets (choose either developing, expected or greater depth).  Mark using the attached answer sheet. I’d suggest having a go at the Varied Frequency worksheet before the Reasoning and Problem Solving.

*Reading – make sure that you are reading for at least 10 minutes per day.

*Times Table practice – log onto TTRockstars and spend at least 20 minutes improving your quick recall of times tables.

*Music – Unit from The Oak National Academy.  Using the link, find Year 5 week beginning Monday30th November.  Select Wednesday’s Music lesson for Year 5.  It is called ‘To compose call and response patterns’. Follow the instructions in the lesson to work through the teaching video and the related activity.

You could also test yourself on your spellings!

Record your work in the book sent home from school.  Please send copies/photos of your work to the admin email address.

Have a good day,

Mrs Henney

Hedgehog wreath making

Some of the children in Hedgehog class enjoyed making a Christmas wreath today.

We made one wreath from tinsel and another with foliage. They were easy to do (we wound the tinsel or willow/foliage) around the frame and ta-da!

If you would like to make one with your child at home, please let us know and we will send home the metal ring that you will need to get going. Simply follow our picture instructions or get creative and design your own. We’d love to see photos of the finished results.884DF8BE-2DD5-4B60-A4AF-936B2CA32A3A 0084E9F3-82AE-446E-B50A-1D957D5B260B
