Weekly Celebrations 21.6.24

We have had a fantastic arts weeks, it has been lovely to see all the classes learning different techniques to create some beautiful art work. Make sure you check out our class pages to see what we have been up to.

Today we have enjoyed our ‘Have fun for Harry’ day to raise money for The Harry Johnson Trust. We have had a green themed cake sale and enjoyed some delicious cakes, see our star bakers below!

Weekly Celebrations

School Value Ambassadors (earning House Points with one pupil chosen each week per year group, awarded by teachers for showing one of our school values):

Year 6 Harry for ‘Wisdom’ – Harry is a brilliant artist. He uses the technique of perspective fantastically and is very focussed in art tasks.

Year 5 India for ‘Wisdom’ and ‘Perseverance’ – For putting great focus and effort into her art work this week.

Year 4 Archie for ‘Perseverance’ – For great perseverance during arts week, giving everything a really good go – well done!

Year 3 Sophia for ‘Perseverance’ – For excellent art this week, especially making her God’e eye – well done!

Year 2 Kohen for showing ‘Wisdom’ and ‘Perseverance’: Kohen has done a fantastic job with all off our artwork this week. He took a lot of time and care to perfect his weaving technique for his God’e eye.

Year 1 Imogen for ‘Trust’ – Imogen has worked really hard all week with her art. She has put her trust in adults and her friends to help her with new skills.

Reception Tommy for ‘Perseverance’ – Tommy had had a brilliant arts week – he has had a positive, thoughtful approach and has created some wonderful pieces of art.

Other achievements…

Harrison has received a certificate of merit for successfully completing part one of John Thompson’s Easiest Piano Course. He said he had to do lots of concentrating and play the notes really fast! He has also received his 5m swimming distance badge – a busy week!

Last week Maia told us all about a dance exam she had taken part in and this week she is showing off her trophies for such excellent dancing – great work Maia!

Thomas completed his Level 1 sailing award! He told us all about the different skills he had to master before being able to achieve this – they sounded quite complicated. Well done Thomas!
