As part of Ruyton tradition, on Thursday evening our Year 6 were able to celebrate their AMAZING SATs results by being put in the stocks and getting soaked by anyone willing to throw sponges or tip buckets!
This little fundraiser added over £140 to the Friends fundraising pot following the Garden Party last week. A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event and well done Year 6 for getting soaked!
As part of Geography learning but also PSHE in learning about the wider world, we have been exploring climate change: what it is and steps that can be taken to prevent it. There have been some brilliant pieces of work produced to reflect learning.
Every day this week we have been enjoying a different aspect of Arts Week 2026 where we have produced art linked to Bible Stories.
On Wednesday the children learned to sketch pencil portraits and produced these incredible drawings of a lion’s head in reflection of the story of Daniel and the Lion’s Den. What an amazing job they did!
A huge well done to all our Year 6 pupils who participated in their annual Bikeability training. Using their own bikes, the children practised training drills on the playground before going on to the main roads of Ruyton and learning to stay safe on the roads. Well done everyone!
Following our Fairy Tales topic last half term, Hedgehogs went on a trip to Telford Wonderland.
We had lots of fun looking inside the fairy tale houses, and meeting Alice and the Mad Hatter. We remembered lots of the stories we had learnt about, and some new ones.
Some of our favourite moments were the Mad Hatter’s dance competition and the rides! We also worked together to escape the maze!

Emilia earned a certificate for swimming.
To round off our topic of sound in science the children used their fantastic instruments that they had made to demonstrate how to change pitch and how sound is made. They created a song in pairs where they were creative with their rhythm and pitch. Great work team!
Today we are celebrating our BRILLIANT Year 6’s who have come to the end of their Sats week! They have worked so hard through each of the days and have supported each other fantastically. Year 6 – we are so proud of you and know you have each tried your absolute best.
To add to the excitement, THE HOODIES HAVE ARRIVED! 🙂 Don’t they look so grown up?!
This week we are thinking of our Year 6s as they prepare for next week’s SATs assessments. Good luck Year 6! We know you will all do your best and make us as proud as ever.
We are also looking forward to David Attenborough’s 100th birthday celebrations on Friday and our annual Fun Run organised by the Friends!

This afternoon we have made the most of the sun and took our learning outside! Our book this term is Julius Caesar and today we had a go at rehearsing and performing the first scene of the play. We had some fantastic performances! Well done team!
