Forest School
This afternoon, the children finished exploring The Drumbles, growing more confident with each step. The rope swing was a particular highlight, bringing lots of laughter and excitement. It’s been fantastic to watch their self-confidence blossom and their social skills flourish in such a natural and supportive environment.

Forest School
Over the past couple of weeks, the children have had a fantastic time getting to know our Forest School site and learning the important rules that help keep everyone safe. The walks to and from The Drumbles have also provided valuable opportunities to learn about road safety in real-life contexts.
One of the highlights was spotting two elegant swans gliding gracefully down the river—an exciting moment for everyone! We also explored how the river’s water level changes depending on rainfall, sparking some great discussions about nature and the environment.
While at The Drumbles, the children have been developing a wide range of skills—from safety awareness and teamwork to communication and building new friendships. It’s been a wonderful way to support their personal, social, and emotional development in a natural and inspiring setting.
A special thank you to all the parent volunteers who have supported us so far—your help makes these experiences possible!

Outdoor Maths!
We took advantage of the glorious sunshine this morning by taking our learning outdoors! Using natural materials, the children explored and created beautiful repeating patterns in the fresh air.

Child Initiated Play

This afternoon, the children enjoyed a wonderful session of child-initiated play, where they explored and practiced essential personal, social, and emotional skills. It was also a great opportunity to strengthen their speaking and listening abilities. It’s been heart warming to see new friendships blossoming over the past week—well done, Hedgehogs! Keep up the fantastic work!
Matching Pairs
In maths this week, we are learning to match, compare and sort. Today, we all worked with a partner to play a game of matching pairs. The children did some beautiful turn taking. Well done team!
