Breakfast Club – Skills for life

Breakfast club not only provides children with a nutritious breakfast, it also gives them the opportunity to learn new life skills.
Our children independently select and pour their own cereals, milk and juice, helping to develop their fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. The children safely carry their own chairs to a table of their choice and eat and socialise with children in different classes, this develops their social skills enabling them to gain more confidence and create new friendships. Children develop responsibility and independence and strengthen their team work skills by volunteering to wash and dry the dishes, clean tables, put away furniture and equipment, and help with the younger children.
We then end our breakfast club session with a physical activity, ensuring that everyone’s brains and bodies are awake and ready for a busy day of learning.
