Good morning.  Here are today’s tasks:

*English – Unit from The Oak National Academy.  Using the link below, find Year 5 week beginning Monday 19th October.  Select Tuesday’s English lesson for Year 5.  It is called ‘To investigate homophones’.  Follow the instructions in the lesson to work through the teaching video and the related activity.

*Maths – today we are continuing work on long division from yesterday.  Take a look at the attached PowerPoint and solve the calculations using long division. Mark using the attached answers.

*Reading – make sure that you are reading for at least 10 minutes per day.

*Times Table practice – log onto TTRockstars and spend at least 20 minutes improving your quick recall of times tables.

*Science – continuing our forces topic.  In school, we are looking at air resistance.  Use the links from The Oak National Academy to explore contact forces including air resistance.

We are also going to try making a racing rocket balloon (see attached link to the National Geographic Kids site) and a vortex cannon (see link below) to prove that air can exert a force.
