Weekly Celebrations :
Football Round-Robin – the season starts
We celebrated our fantastic football teams this morning following their first fixtures of the new school year. Last night, Ruyton hosted a round-robin tournament where Baschurch and Myddle primary school were invited to come and play. It was fantastic to see both of our school fields full of matches, with TWO pitches for the girls’ teams and another for the boys, plus lots of supporters on the sideline!
A special congratulations to all our players who were playing their first ever match last night, particularly amongst the girls: we were so proud to see 14 of our Year 5/6 girls wanting to play and compete! Also to the boy’s team who are made up of mostly Year 4s this year – what a cracking effort to hold some tough teams to close games. We can’t wait for the next match already!
School Value Ambassadors (earning House Points with one pupil chosen each week per year group, awarded by teachers for showing one of our school values):
Year 6 – Jackson for ‘Perseverance’ : Jackson is trying so hard in everything: from PE (especially the football match), English, every Maths lesson and how he conducts himself around school. Star!
Year 5 Percy for ‘Perseverance’ and ‘Wisdom’ : Percy is giving a top-effort to his learning every day. He is a role-model in class at Year 5, well done!
Year 4 Isaac for ‘Friendship’ : Isaac shows excellent friendship to others, particularly in PSHE this week.
Year 3 Oscar for ‘Perseverance’: Oscar always works hard and tries his best every day.
Year 2 Seren for ‘Wisdom’: Seren always shares her ideas in our class discussions. She has a very grown-up way of thinking!
Year 1 Imogen for Perseverance: Seren approaches all aspects of school with positivity (and a big smile!) even when she finds something tricky.
Reception Cordelia for Respect and Wisdom: Cordelia always has beautiful manners, thinks sensibly and is a super role-model. Cordelia – you are super!
Bumblebees Ethan: For his wonderful attitude to learning!
Raffle ticket winners (awarded by staff for lining-up or behaviour around school)
Plus an extra winner in Rabbit Class as they had the most tickets this week, and another for being the superstars of Worship this week 👏
Congratulations to all our winners this week!
Other celebrations:
Super swimmer!
Congratulations Blake for achieving his Level 6 ‘Learn to Swim’! It sounded impressive with all the skills he had to show to achieve this, well done Blake.
Singing sensation!
Well done Lexie for showing off her singing skills (with much enthusiasm by the sounds of it!) and earning this trophy from Little Embers in Shrewsbury.
Our very own Rookie Lifeguard
Congratulations Brooke for achieving her Bronze Level of the Rookie lifeguard award. Brooke described how she had to bring a dummy to the surface of the water for this award; well done Brooke, we’re really proud of you.
