And congratulations to Rhys for competing in the 5k at the Running Festival in Brynkinalt and coming 3rd. He beat adults and children older than him to achieve this fantastic result.
This week in school, we have started work on the time capsule transition project for The Corbet (the overview of it is attached here so that you can see all of the different areas that we will be working to complete before the end of term). For your homework, we would like you to create a fact-file all about yourself. Try to include as much information about yourself as you can. For example: age, height etc as well as details about your hobbies and interests, favourite books, tv programme etc. It would also be lovely to include some photos of you to include with your written work as well.
Please bring/email your completed fact file and photos by Wednesday 7th July.
We would like you to write a guide to your favourite hobby. For example, you might be passionate about rugby, football, art, reading, gaming or cats! You could explain what equipment (if any) is needed, why it is a fantastic hobby, how it makes you feel, how long you have been doing it etc. Please feel free to choose how you would like to present your guide.
Please bring/email your guide to school by Wednesday 7th July.
We look forward to reading your fact-files and guides.
As it is Arts Week this week, we have an arty homework for you. You may choose what you would like to do but here are a few ideas if you need them:
*Take a look at an online drawing tutorial and have a go at your own piece. There are lots out there on all sorts of subjects from Manga to comic books.
*Paint/draw a scene from a window (including the window frame).
*Create a piece of artwork to portray your feelings and emotions using different colours.
*Research a famous artist of your choice and make a PowerPoint.
*Try out a craft – origami, make some salt dough and create a sculpture.
*Painting – try using something other than a paintbrush to paint with.
Please bring in or email a photo of your project to either myself or Miss Horton.
In Owl Class, we are using the book ‘Here we are; Notes for living on planet earth’ by Oliver Jeffers. Today, we drew and outlined our silk paintings in gutta and made models of ourselves out of foil, cardboard and masking tape.
This homework task is also on TEAMS.
To finish off our Science topic on the heart and lungs, we would like you to create a poster to promote the importance of a healthy heart and lungs. You will need to think about how we keep healthy e.g. diet, exercise, the effects of smoking etc. Also, consider how you will get your message across to your audience through a catchy slogan, use of colour, pictures, facts etc.
Please either email your poster, bring it into school or upload it onto TEAMS by Wednesday 23rd June.
This week, your homework is connected to our maths work on either angles in triangles or 2D shapes. Complete the sheet for your group (developing, expected or greater depth) and return it to school.
