We’ve had a very exciting morning in Hedgehog Class! We came back from worship to find flour footprints, lots of different ingredients and baking equipment in our classroom! We all had a long think and a chat about where these things came from and the Reception children decided that it must have been a real life Gingerbread Man. We can’t wait to find out what else he might get up to!

Welcome to Hedgehog Class!
We’re all very excited to welcome our new Reception children to our school family tomorrow morning! We hope that you’ve all had a fantastic summer and that your little ones are looking forward to joining us in the morning. Please find our newsletter for this term attached. You can find out about what we will be learning in class this term on our class information page.
We know that the first couple of days of school can be daunting for both the children and the parents so if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!
Forest School Catch Up!
The children in Reception and Year 1 have been SO busy over the last couple of weeks! Here’s what they’ve been up to…
Finding and identifying woodland flowers…
And one of my favourite sessions of the year, making dandelion fritters…
And finally… using natural materials to make Coronation pictures!
Welcome Back!

Easter Gardens
The Reception children have made their own Easter Gardens using natural materials this week. They all knew that Christians would put 3 crosses and a tomb in an Easter Garden to remember the Easter story.
A Parachute for Jack!
Earlier this term, the Reception children all designed a parachute for Jack to jump down from the castle instead of climbing back down the beanstalk. They all had so many fantastic ideas! Then, they all made their parachutes and tested them out on our Lego “Jack”. The children then verbally evaluated how well their parachute worked. Great work team!
Adventure Playground!
Hedgehog Class made the most of the sunshine yesterday afternoon and spent some time developing their gross motor skills on the new adventure playground! Look at that confidence and those smiles!
Easter Sunday
Today we went on an Easter egg hunt outside. We know that Easter egg hunts happen on Easter Sunday. We learnt that Easter Sunday is an exciting day for Christians as they want to tell everyone that Jesus is not dead but alive forever! We learnt that some Christians go to church to worship on Easter Sunday and sing joyful songs.
We watched a video of some Christian people putting flowers on a big cross to show that Jesus is not dead any more as flowers are a symbol of new life. Then, we made our own flower crosses in class using the collage technique.
Wonderland!
Hedgehog Class have had the most fantastic day at Wonderland, Telford today! We visited the houses of various Traditional Tale characters, went on some fun rides and took part in a brilliant storytelling session with the Mad Hatter! This has all helped to enhance the work that we have been doing in class on Traditional Tales this term. We were shown some new ones that the children didn’t know as well so, we’ll be learning them over the next few weeks. The children have all had a great day and made us incredibly proud of their behaviour! Well done team!
Wonderland, Telford have kindly given each child in Hedgehog Class a free return ticket which expires in September. These will be handed out to the children tomorrow.
